Aluminum cladding sheets are an economical and durable material that can be used for a variety of commercial or residential projects. It is made from two thin layers of aluminum—the outer layer provides protection from moisture and weather conditions, while the inner layer provides insulation.

Aluminum cladding sheets are a lightweight but strong material used in many construction projects. They offer many benefits, including durability, cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and safety.

Thanks to its unique characteristics, aluminium can be cut, folded, drilled, bent, and even perforated without losing its structural integrity. It is also a very safe material to use for any building cladding as it is non-combustible in its solid form.

While aluminium cladding cannot rust, it can corrode. While the aluminium oxide layer that forms on the surface offers protection against corrosion, this can be broken down, exposing the metal beneath – and if the coating is broken down faster than it can re-oxidise, the aluminium beneath is at risk of degradation.

Aluminium is especially durable in end-use. In this way aluminium lasts for decades and the cut off value of aluminium's lifespan in the construction sector is 60 years. The required energy in combination with the long life span is what makes aluminium durable.

Aluminium Sheet

Aluminium sheets are characterized by a higher resistance to environmental influences, moisture, UV rays, and scratching, and they are used both for interior applications (appliances, panelling) with an anodized coating up to 5 micrometers, and for exterior applications in the construction industry with an anodized coating over 10 micrometers.

Anodizing is the controlled process of chemically applying a protective layer of glass hardness in thicknesses of 2-20 micrometers to the surface of the aluminum sheet.

The best alloy for anodizing is ENAW5005 H14/24, which provides for the repeatability of production, especially in design, and for batches of the same look. Nearly all aluminum alloys of the ENAW1xxx, ENAW3xxx ENAW5xxx, series can be anodised.

Aluminum 1100 (19000) is a soft material and is used to make many common household items, such as cooking utensils, household foil, and food containers. Aluminum 1100 is also used in a wide range of industrial applications, involving both thermal and electrical conductivity. Artists appreciate the ability to form shapes using stamps, engravers, and other light-weight tools.

Aluminum 1100 is commercially pure aluminum. 1100 has excellent welding characteristics; it is also soft and ductile so is ideal for applications that require intricate forming as it works hardens slower than other alloys. 1100 is, however, non-heat treatable. As 1100 has excellent resistance to corrosion it is widely used in the chemical and food processing industries also for giftware and applications where eye appeal is important.

• Aluminium is an increasingly popular choice for use in installations and buildings. It is corrosion-resistant in almost any kind of environment. Even in highly corrosive industrial environments, it is resistant to fumes and vapours of organic compounds and to chemicals like ammonia, carbon dioxide and acids such as hydrochloric acid, nitric acid and sulphuric acid. Such corrosion resistance gives the metal a long life and keeps it looking good throughout its life.
